How to Merge PDFs on an iPhone

You don't need to install anything: the merge tool below runs directly in Safari, and your files stay on your phone.

Merging in Safari (no install)

  1. Tap Choose files above — the iOS file picker opens.
  2. Pick your PDFs from Files, iCloud Drive or "On My iPhone". To select several at once, tap Select in the picker's top corner first.
  3. Order the files with the ↑ / ↓ arrows and tap Merge.
  4. Tap Download, then choose Save to Files in the Safari download prompt.

The merged file lands in Files → Downloads unless you pick another folder. Processing happens on the phone itself — nothing is uploaded, which also means it works with sensitive documents. One honest caveat: iPhones have less memory than laptops, so combining very large scans (hundreds of megabytes) can fail — merge in smaller batches if that happens.

The built-in alternative: Files app

iOS can merge PDFs without any website: open the Files app, long-press to select the PDFs, tap the ⋯ menu and choose Create PDF. It is quick, but it merges in the order files happen to be selected, gives no reordering step and no preview. For two files it's fine; for anything you need in a specific order, the tool above is easier to control.
